Our relationship to the earth and gravity is of great interest. There
are many "postural " solutions to this interaction. Over time our
species have developed an erect stance which we all recognise as
"balanced". Deviations from ideal are thought of as poor posture. It is
worth exploring this notion more thoroughly in order to understand the
major deviations which place a bias on our equilibrium position in
standing. In order not to embaress individuals,I have simulated and
exaggerated many of the common types explaining the joints or parts
which are far removed from their mid-range.
